Pacific Landing

Municipality: City of Colwood

The Opportunity

Pacific Landing is a development on the Esquimalt Lagoon that will consist of four condominium buildings, a hotel with a conference center, a wellness center, an arts studio, retail shops, offices, and a pub.

The project is located on the former Pendray property on Esquimalt Lagoon and adjacent to Royal Roads University.

The Approach

Westbrook provided the detailed design for site servicing, grading and storm water management for the project.

Unique features of the project include the creation of a salmon spawning channel which was constructed parallel to the creek to provide an isolated area for salmon to access. Working closely with the project’s aquatic biologist, Westbrook designed the storm water management system to direct rainfall runoff to the channel to provide a clean source of water.

Challenges included providing sanitary sewer, water, and gas services beneath Bee Creek. This was achieved by boring three separate cores under the creek and installing sleeves in which the services could be constructed. The works were done without impact to the creek and were closely monitored by both Westbrook Consulting and the Environmental Consultant.

The Result

The project is ongoing, with the completion of Phase 1 in 2017. Phase 2 has an anticipated start of construction scheduled for spring of 2018.

At Westbrook, we pride ourselves on delivering quality service that provides peace of mind for our clients…
