Hatley Park Shopping Center Sewer Extension

The Opportunity

The ownership of the Hatley Park Shopping Centre, located on Kelly Road, joined with other businesses in the area to extend the municipal sanitary main to each of their properties.  

The Approach

The project involved both the design of the extension of the main, as well as consideration for a future extension beyond the project’s frontage.

Westbrook provided the detailed design, tendering, contract administration, and construction inspection for the project.

The main challenge of the project was to cross under a concrete encased communications duct bank. In order to achieve the crossing while ensuring adequate flow was also attainable, the main had to be extended at a 0.30% slope.

The Result

The project was completed in 2011.
