Village Walk & Roberts Landing

The Opportunity

Four multi-family buildings have been constructed on Hockley Avenue in the City of Langford. Phase 1 of Village Walk consisted of a building containing 25 residential units and 54 m2 of commercial space at 790 Hockley Avenue. Similarly, Phase 2 at 784 Hockley Avenue consisted of 53 residential units and 170 m2 of commercial space and Phase 3 at 778 Hockley Avenue consisted of 33 residential units. Robert’s Landing is located at 772 Hockley and consists of 20 residential units.

The Approach

Westbrook Consulting completed the off-site engineering design for sidewalks, road widening, water, sewers, as well as the on-site drainage system design for all four apartment buildings. Westbrook worked closely with the project designer and hydro service provider to coordinate the placement of services for this multiphase project.

Challenges of the development included accommodating parking spaces, landscaping and electrical requirements, as well as matching existing road grades.

The Result

The design of the first building at 790 Hockley Avenue began in April 2013 and construction and design carried through until August 2016, when the final building at 778 Hockley Avenue was completed construction.
