Ganges Waste Water Treatment Plan Upgrades

Salt Spring Island

Ganges Waste Water Treatment Plant is located in Ganges on Salt Spring Island. The treatment plan is operated by the Capital Regional District (CRD) and services a residential and commercial catchment area.

Westbrook Consulting was engaged by the CRD to provide drafting services for the proposed upgrades to the wastewater treatment plant in Ganges, as well as for the pump station upgrades for the Manson Street Pump Station and the Harbour House Pump Station. Westbrook worked collaboratively with the CRD to complete tender ready drawings of mechanical piping, concrete service pads and site services, using AutoCAD Civil 3D. Detailed drafting was completed to ensure all of the mechanical components fit within the existing structures.

During the construction period, Nicole Fischer, our Salt Spring Island based engineer, carried out site inspections upon request by the CRD. Nicole worked with the CRD and liaised between the contractors and the CRD project manager located in Victoria.

The final stages of construction are currently underway and the project is scheduled to be completed by spring 2019.
