Oak Bay High School Replacement ProjectDistrict of Oak Bay

The Victoria School District reconstructed Oak Bay High School and associated playing fields to create a safe and modern learning environment. The new facility has has been designed with considerations for all forms of learning and also contains a fine arts facility and neighbourhood learning center. The new Oak Bay High School will service 1,300 students in grades 9 through 12, as well the community through seniors programs, day care and other activities. The school was also designed to LEED Gold standards and in accordance with the Province’s Wood First Act.

School District 62 extended kindergarten class days from half days to full days in 2011. The extension of class times resulted in the need to create additional classrooms at Crystalview Elementary to double the kindergarten class capacity. School District 62 constructed new classroom space in areas formerly occupied by a playground and sports field. In order to maintain an outdoor play area, the playground was relocated, and the sports field was reconfigured.

Glenlyon Norfolk School - Theater BuildingCity of Victoria

Glenlyon Norfolk constructed a new theatre wing addition to the Gudewill Building at the Pemberton Woods Campus on Richmond Road in the City of Victoria. The two storey, 13,000 square foot theatre addition, was constructed complete with a raised stage, theatrical classrooms, amenity spaces, lobby, and an auditorium of 352 seats. The theatre was constructed in a contemporary design with an exterior gathering space featuring a reflection pond and interlocking brick courtyard.

School District 62 Transporation BuildingCity of Langford

In 2016 the School District’s Facilities and Transportation building was sold as part of the sale of the Belmont School land, at the corner of Jacklin Road and Kelly Road. As a result, the District constructed a new Transportation Building and yard on Amy Road and a new Facilities Building on Spencer Road, in the City of Langford.
