University of Victoria District Heating PlantDistrict of Oak Bay

Located in Parking Lot Six in the southwest corner of the University of Victoria campus, the new District Heating Plant will house three new boilers that will replace the existing boilers that are scattered throughout the buildings on campus.

Oak Bay High School Replacement ProjectDistrict of Oak Bay

The Victoria School District reconstructed Oak Bay High School and associated playing fields to create a safe and modern learning environment. The new facility has has been designed with considerations for all forms of learning and also contains a fine arts facility and neighbourhood learning center. The new Oak Bay High School will service 1,300 students in grades 9 through 12, as well the community through seniors programs, day care and other activities. The school was also designed to LEED Gold standards and in accordance with the Province’s Wood First Act.

Victoria High SchoolCity of Victoria

Westbrook Consulting provided Civil Engineering services for the Technical Education Addition to north side of the historic Victoria High School building.

University of Victoria CARSA BuildingDistrict of Saanich

As part of the works for the proposed Center for Athletics, Recreation and Special Abilities (CARSA) building at the University of Victoria, several existing services needed to be rerouted that fell within the proposed building’s footprint.

Ecole John Stubbs Memorial School

Located in the Department of National Defence neighbourhood of Belmont Park, the Sooke School District successfully constructed and integrated a new elementary and middle school.

Happy Valley Elementary Elementary School – School District 62

Originally constructed in 1912, Happy Valley Elementary School was completely destroyed by fire on October 14, 2005.

Monterey School ConversionDistrict of Oak Bay

In the early 21^st century, changing demographics necessitated converting the historic Monterey Elementary School into a middle school.

St. Margaret’s Junior SchoolDistrict of Saanich

St. Margaret’s School, located in the District of Saanich, expanded their learning facility with the construction of a new Junior School. The 1,947 m2, two storey building, was constructed to meet LEED® Silver Certification.

University Center Sewer RetrofitDistrict of Saanich

In response to a surcharge of the sanitary system into the basement of the University Centre building, the University of Victoria engaged Westbrook Consulting Ltd to investigate the cause and develop a solution to the issue.

University of Victoria South Tower ResidenceDistrict of Saanich

The construction of the South Tower Residence increased the University of Victoria student housing capacity by 106 beds. The project was constructed on an area of surplus paved parking lot and was designed and constructed to LEED Gold standards.

Crystalview Elementary AdditionCity of Langford

School District 62 extended kindergarten class days from half days to full days in 2011. The extension of class times resulted in the need to create additional classrooms at Crystalview Elementary to double the kindergarten class capacity. School District 62 constructed new classroom space in areas formerly occupied by a playground and sports field. In order to maintain an outdoor play area, the playground was relocated, and the sports field was reconfigured.

Glenlyon Norfolk School - Theater BuildingCity of Victoria

Glenlyon Norfolk constructed a new theatre wing addition to the Gudewill Building at the Pemberton Woods Campus on Richmond Road in the City of Victoria. The two storey, 13,000 square foot theatre addition, was constructed complete with a raised stage, theatrical classrooms, amenity spaces, lobby, and an auditorium of 352 seats. The theatre was constructed in a contemporary design with an exterior gathering space featuring a reflection pond and interlocking brick courtyard.

School District 62 Transporation BuildingCity of Langford

In 2016 the School District’s Facilities and Transportation building was sold as part of the sale of the Belmont School land, at the corner of Jacklin Road and Kelly Road. As a result, the District constructed a new Transportation Building and yard on Amy Road and a new Facilities Building on Spencer Road, in the City of Langford.
